About Company

Giggle Bug Creations was molded from a few of my favorite hobbies. It is difficult for me to find exactly what I want, when I want it. Encountered with such a situation while pregnant with my first daughter, I found the perfect solution: make it! I had made a few things before her beloved "blankie" and MANY more since :)

I also found it hard to find just the perfect bedding solution for myself and my children. Our kids all have very sensitive skin and are prone to break-outs, so only cotton on their beds (even wool gets reactions!). This has become increasingly difficult to find in the "perfect" combination.

I started out with my children using a commercially made structured baby carrier that hurt my back after 10 minutes of use, and was just awful for my babies' developing hips and spine, so what do you think I did? Research.

I came to find an entire world of baby-wearing opening up to me. I'll admit it was a little daunting at first, my daughter was already 18 months old and I was pregnant with number two when I purchased my first Mei Tai (still have and use it!). I have in my personal collection various pouches, ring slings, my beloved ergo, an Ella Roo mei tai, and quite a few wraps. Each has a different use, and I love each one! I am now proud to have my third child (a little boy!) and I'm insanely glad that I know about the blessings baby-wearing can bring! I don't think I'd have made it through this season in his life without it!

The name "Giggle Bug" is a nickname of mine that my soul-mate and partner (and husband too!) gave to me a long, long time ago, when we were in the friendship-only stage of our relationship. To me, the name imparts a sense of being wrapped with the feeling of intense warmth that one can only feel when you are truly loved. I have found that feeling every time I snuggle one of my children beneath their "blankies", or place them in one of our carriers. My hope is that every child will be able to get that same feeling when someone they love holds them close.
